This Privacy Policy explains how AstroChetna ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses and protects your information when you use the AstroChetna mobile application ("App") and the website astrochetna.com (together, the "Platform"). By using the Platform you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

Information we collect

• Account data. Your mobile number, verified via a one-time password (OTP) sent by SMS. We do not collect or store passwords.
• Birth details. Name, date of birth, time of birth (optional) and place of birth for each profile you create. These are required to compute your Vedic birth chart (kundli), which is the core of the service.
• Chat messages. The questions you ask Chetna and the responses generated, so your conversation history can be shown to you across sessions.
• Payment information. Subscriptions are processed by Razorpay. We receive payment references, plan and status — never your card number, UPI PIN or bank credentials.
• Device and usage data. App language, push notification token (if you enable reminders), device platform, and product analytics events (for example, which screens are used and when a reading is viewed) collected via PostHog. If you install the App from an advertisement, ad-attribution data may be collected via the Meta SDK, subject to your device permissions (App Tracking Transparency on iOS).

How we use your information

• To create your account and keep it secure (OTP verification).
• To compute your kundli and generate astrological readings. Birth chart data and your questions are shared with our AI provider (Google Gemini) solely to generate your reading.
• To provide daily horoscopes, kundali matching and chat history.
• To process subscriptions and prevent fraud (via Razorpay).
• To send the daily reminder you opt into.
• To understand product usage in aggregate and improve the Platform, and to measure advertising effectiveness.

Sharing of information

We never sell your personal information. We share data only with the service providers needed to run the Platform:

• Supabase / cloud hosting — database and infrastructure.
• Google (Gemini) — AI generation of readings.
• Razorpay — payment and subscription processing.
• PostHog — product analytics.
• Meta — ad attribution and conversion measurement (hashed identifiers only).
• Authorities — where required by applicable law or a valid legal request.

Data retention

We retain your account data while your account is active. When you delete your account, your data enters a 30-day grace window (during which you can restore it by logging back in) and is then permanently deleted, except for records we must keep under applicable law (for example, payment records under Indian tax rules).

Your rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and applicable IT Rules, you may access, correct or delete your personal data, and withdraw consent for its processing. You can edit your profile in the App, delete your account from Settings, or write to us at support@astrochetna.com. We respond to requests within 30 days.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and access to production systems is restricted. No internet transmission is perfectly secure; you use the Platform at your own risk, and we work to protect your information with appropriate technical and organisational measures.

Children

The Platform is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
